Welcome to The Boat and Horses

Beeston, Nottingham East Midlands

The Boat & Horses is much more than just a pub, we hold community events, classes and functions for lots to enjoy; the type of pub that locals and visitors want to use and be a part of. For whatever reason customers come into our pub – be it a quiet pint on your own to read the paper, a family get together, or a group of friends meeting up for a few drinks, we aim to ensure you enjoy your experience and want to come back again and hopefully bring your friends/family with you next time. We’d like you to tell others about what a nice place the Boat & Horses is to be, whatever you are looking for. We have a large function suite for hire called ‘The Stables’, with its own bar and stage, with all events catered for including parties, weddings, funerals, conference facilities, group/club meetings etc – please contact the pub for further details or to make a booking. We have a range of draught lagers and ciders, including 3 cask ales, two of which change weekly. Also, a large selection of spirits, including 17 different gins! We can also offer BT and Sky Sports, Darts, Table Football and outdoor Skittles!

Music evening

Music evening

Well we are doing something a little different today and have some special guests joining us for the evening! We hope this will be a weekly event, so if you fancy a little light entertainment with your pint, then please come and join us from 8pm! Here's an introduction to our guests ... 'Jammy Codgers' will be playing an extensive collection of set tunes, mostly traditional and contemporary folk music but will happily venture into other genres; a little soft rock or slightly jazzy numbers are also enjoyed, especially when the singers join us. It is a jam session so we all play together but take turns to pick the tune or song, though once in a while someone may do a solo or duet. A friendly bunch with very mixed abilities, also welcome beginners as well as the more experienced. Most members read from sheet music but there are also improvisers among us who don't. The joy and therapy of music is also a social occasion. Most of all it's about having fun. We learn new material together and try to produce as listenable a sound as we can - but we don't take ourselves too seriously.
